NIBL Silver me Timber x NIBL Sadie 8/11/15 Silvermane

NIBL Silver me Timber x NIBL Sadie

Girls:
Laura I: Sadie + dove daughter
Sarah N: Berkshire for breeding

2 available
Keeping: 1 berkshire

Boys:
Sarah N: Hooded and dove for breeding
Emily M: hood and dove
Taisha: black male

1 still available

8/10/15: Sadie is looking VERY round!
8/11/15: Babies were born! Sadie is being a poor first time mother.

Well, Sadie has given birth to a lot already and is still going, however she is being a very bad mother. Three are pale and cold and will likely pass. I put the pink ones in a group. She has them all over the cage. She is not paying attention to or cleaning them. Nobody get your hopes up on this litter as they may not survive today.
8/12/15:
Sadie is doing the strangest things with her nest ideas...BUT all babies are well fed.
8/14/15: Mama Sadie's breakfast: Green smoothie with banana, apple, coconut milk, wild flower honey, kale, with oat mix and grain free high protein cat food mixed in.
8/15/15: Sadie had finally learned her mothering skills. There are 11 babies,  boys and 5 girls, some hooded. There are some light ones that may be PEW. Several dark ones that will likely be Silvermane.
8/21/15:

Sadie litter update:

All hoodeds are Silvermane, in mink and black. There are two berkshire Silvermanes. I will be keeping the berkshire female. 1 black self, and 3 possibly champagne. All dumbo ears.

Please be aware this is a new type and not all kinks have been perfected. They have about 3 years of tracked health from Jessica, the finder, and so far she has not seen any health issues. She is a professional feeder breeder and before 3 years ago animals were feeders, so they don't have many years of pet breeding.
8/25/16: Sadie update: Eyes will be opening soon! I saw one peeking this morning. They also are crawling around like mad. They got to crawl around in the play area, even though they're too young to enjoy what they are doing

THE LIBRARY OF SOULS #STAYPECULIAR TOUR SWEEPSTAKES submission

This is a photo submission for the peculiar contest.

Aria: The Rat Whisperer
Aria has a special connection with rodents, mainly rats. These intellect creatures dwell in many locations; dim allies or carpeted forest floors. They often rely on the waste of humans to survive (it is often claimed that rats will be impacted the most if humanity were to vanish). They are far from the dirty monsters of over active imaginations. They are not evil nor are they disease ridden. They are loving, easily bonding animals. Aria can communicate telepathically with rats (wild and tame). They are often seen nesting in her hair, perching on her shoulders like the mini royalty they are, or following at her feet. They come in handy when retrieving lost items, going into cramped spaces, eavesdropping, scaring the occasional unpleasant lady, and in extreme conditions they can swarm enemies. She comes from a loop in the 1800’s where rats were commonly despised. She sought friendship in the discarded and formed an understanding with these furry beasts.
*Featured in this photo is AGCR Doubloon, a male dumbo eared rat bred by A Gothic Rattery in Florida. He is a pedigreed fancy pet rat displaying a new type in the rat fancy world called Silvermane. He is a darling who enjoys head scratches and strawberries. Also featured is AGCR Tobias who is a Russian blue point Siamese with dumbo ears and rex fur. And finally AGCR Velichor the black roan dumbo ear. All boys have been raised by me and bred to be healthy and friendly. The bond mentioned in my character is a true feeling.

Decorating Cheaply

Rats are destructive critters. You just purchased 50 dollars worth of cute toys at Petsmart and the next morning you wake up to it all destroyed! You don't want to keep paying 50 dollars to provide enrichment to your pets. So....you take a trip to the dollar store!

Here are my purchases at the dollar store: Dog rope chews, cat balls, giant jingle balls and chip bowls. The chip bowls make amazing igloos. I also get baby chew rings there as well.
Bottom level with the chip bowl igloo, 99 cent party streamers, and baby chew chains. The dollar store also has nice heavy crocks for food.
Chip bowl igloo with fleece from Big Lots ($2.50 for an entire blanket).
Top level toys and a hammock made from Big Lots Fleece.

ALP Kenai x AGCR Luciana 3/13/15

ALP Kenai x AGCR Luciana: Paired 2/16/20
  • 2/20/15-This pair is blissfully ignoring one another. We will expect curly coated harleys in this litter, with all dumbo ears.
3/09/15-Lucy is looking quite round! She should be due soon.
3/13/15-Friday the 13th Babies are here! 13 babies in total
3/22/15-Sadly, a few days ago number 13 went missing (Mama must have decided it was too runty and needed to cull). Now there are 12. 8 boys and 4 girls. All very healthy and growing fast!
4/06/15- Babies are now active and exploring. They enjoy their playtime in the pen.

AGCR Larkspur x TMG Greer 3/07/15 (Dwarf/Standard)

 KEEPING ALL

AGCR Larkspur was paired with TMG Greer
  • On 2/04/15 Greer went into heat. Interest on 2/06/15 was shown to Lyric.
    • 2/20/15 So far these three have all been getting along just fine!
3/07/15-Finally, Greer gave birth! There are only four babies (Go figure!). One looks male, the other three look female. The male is roan. There look to be two dwarf. They are healthy so far with big milkbands, however one of the dwarfs has a darkspot which could be bruising from birth. I will keep an eye on it.

Picture
3/19/15-The four babies are doing VERY well. They are SO chunky! Small litters are always healthier because mother can devote more time and milk to them. I am very pleased with their growth. I will be keep the two dwarf and the black roan male. The russian blue female roan will be available to adopters.
4/06/15-These babies are SO fat and calm. Greer has been doing a great job. All four are being kept here.
